Crafty Fox Market & Brixton

Despite my lack of pennies of late, I gave in to temptation and visited the Crafty Fox pop up market in Brixton this morning. It was three floors of handmade heaven! Lots of lovely ladies (and some fellas too!) set up their market stalls and were selling all kinds of handmade jewellery, artwork, cushions, clothes, bags, tea towels, anything and everything...

It was totally packed! I was very disciplined and kept my purse in my handbag, although I saw lots of things I would have very easily purchased had the Texan not been there as the voice of reason...

The very stylishly dressed Ms. Cupcake was on hand for some mid-shopping sustenance! Her cupcakes looked (and tasted) delicious. Yum! And she is clearly dedicated to the cupcake cause, since she even had cupcakes on her head!

These ladies were sitting up on the top floor of the pub making lots of pretty things. I really wish I could knit, but I just don't have the patience for it!

Because I couldn't stand the torture of not having any money any longer, we decided to take a wander around Brixton Village.

Brixton is such a vibrant part of the city - it's quickly becoming my favourite bit of London. The smells and colours and music are unlike anywhere else.

I really like those weird oozing clams in the middle of this photograph - I wonder what they taste like? The Texan took tons of photos today...

Did you go to the Crafty Fox pop up market today too? If so, I'd love hear about what treasures you picked up!

Great photos and commentary! I was there, selling my wares (that's me in pic 3 with the yellow table!). But I also picked up a few gems. Superfumi gave me a sweet little bambi brooch in exchange for a bandito bib and I bought a frog puppet from Twisted Myth two tables down (for my two-year old who desperately wanted every single puppet on that table).

Suzanne, glad to hear you had some spare time to shop while you were there! I loved those Bambi brooches! I actually was wondering who the lady at the yellow table was, because you looked right at my camera - now I know! Just checked out your Etsy shop, those bibs are the cutest thing ever - hopefully you'll still be making them in 5-10 years so my bubbas can wear them! x
