By the time you're reading this, I will be in Paris! Zut alors!! I am in desperate need of a break away. London, especially during winter, really wears on me and so a few days shopping and eating and a little bit of European air is just what I need after all my horrid exams...
I gave you a little sneak preview of this outfit before I went into exam hibernation but I wanted to take some proper photos since this Aubin & Wills skirt is my new favourite thing... I can't wait to wear it bare-legged with pretty sandals when the weather improves, if it ever improves. And it is definitely coming with me to Paris - so expect more photos to come! Well, if my mum can cope with my camera...
I know many Brits love to hate it, but I adore France. I lived there for a year, in Strasbourg, and it was simply amazing. I kick myself all the time for not starting a blog back then. My dorm room had incredible high ceilings with a view of the river and a little church (and I only paid 80 euros a month!). The food was unlike anything I've ever had in London - even the canteen at my work was the epitome of French haute cuisine - and I had all the time in the world to wander and take pictures. Kick kick kick!
The Texan is still taking his exams (he's doing the same course as me but at a different college) so I'm buggering off without him and enjoying la vie parisienne with my mummy instead. We've already scheduled lots of market and vintage shopping time but I'd love some suggestions of where is good to go, shopping-wise and food-wise. Any recommendations? x

I see that you need a break from London, but I can't understand because I want to be in London so much! Anyway, this skirt is one of the nicest skirt I've ever seen.
Bon voyage.
Beautiful shoes and bag!
You look charming. I love all the little details- your shoes and watch and lipstick! I am so jealous of your Paris trip... One of my best friends is over studying in Rennes and she was in Paris last week and I was aching to be over there! I think the time of year is to blame, but I have severe wanderlust and need a break from home. I'm going to go to New York in a couple weeks so I don't go stir-crazy!
Also that's so awesome that you were able to study in Strasbourg. I spent a few days there when I was backpacking in Europe and I absolutely adored the city.
Ah your beautifully put together outfit brings spring to my heart! Enjoy Paris my dear, have a safe flight and plenty of fun!!!

I'm loving the pairing of the red shoes with the red phone booths :) Your skirt is so cute and I love the bag too...though I always sigh a little when a blogger sports something I WANT only to see it's vintage! Have a wonderful time in Paris. It's an obvious suggestion but the Shakespeare & Co bookshop is the most higgeldy piggeldy bookshop ever if you haven't already been.
Have a lovely time!

i know the bag has already appeared in a number of your past outfit photos...but i just want to say, it's beautiful ! how come its eBay owner parted with this beautiful thing? i won't.. at whatever prices. :D I am wondering if this enigmatic vintage bag has a history behind... What brand is it?
feel happy to learn of your paris trip . do you look like your mother? will there be fashion-styled mother-daughter photos in upcoming posts? That will be interesting. (kidding... : )
Have an amazing time! Can't wait to see the photos. These are lovely. x
This is a great, great outfit! Plus, I love where you guys snapped this picture (next to a telephone booth!), quite clever lol
xx
I hope you're gonna like our sweet beautiful Paris, that's strange that the brits don't like the french, cause we like them. Especially british men for my part, this accent is killing me !
See U !
I hope you have an amazing time in Paris! I'm sure you will :) Looking forward to seeing lots of pictures! Love your skirt too by the way! beautiful print :)
Love, Vanilla
The most beautiful bag I have seen in so long! I really like your style too sweetpea

so lovely!!
This made me chuckle! My mum is very different to me, in every sense, so no mother-daughter outfit photos I'm afraid...! She did manage to take a couple of photos of me though, which is quite a feat for a woman who has never used a digital camera before!
As for the bag, it has no label so I'm not sure where it came from - I'd been looking for a tooled leather bag for years and came across it on eBay about five years ago. I've treasured it ever since :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH - my mum and I took you up on your suggestion and it was incredible! 'Higgeldy piggeldy' is the perfect way to describe it! Thank you xx
I had no choice - I had to finish my degree in London... Needless to say, I was quite bitter about adding an extra zero and then some to my rent budget when I returned!
You have no idea how much this comment means to me - thank you! xxxxxx
If it's any consolation, I'm super jealous of your upcoming trip to New York! But I know exactly what you mean, I get the same way - I go insane if I'm stuck in the same place for too long... I think it should be the law that everyone takes a weekend break away at least every six weeks!
