Assing Alley

I am in DESPERATE need of a haircut and colour! My wonderful hairdresser (who I've been seeing for years) has, however, decided to quit hairdressing to become a teaching assistant which, although I'm very happy for her, means I'm now hairdresser-less. Does anyone know a good hairdresser in London that won't cost me the earth (i.e. less than £100)?! Suggestions on a postcard please, I am getting desperate!

Before I started Take Courage, I actually had super short cropped hair for years. I loved it but my Masters degree meant I had no time or money to spend on anything fun so I let it grow out. I like how feminine it makes me look but I never really know what to do with my now long-ish hair... Are there any easy tutorials which I could try? I'm always in awe of you lovely blogger ladies who can effortlessly twirl your locks up into a flawless beehive or pretty fishtail plait... I really need someone to teach me these things!

I've actually had every possible hair colour too. I guess I was still figuring out what I liked and what suited me during my late teens/early twenties - I've been a brunette, a red-head, dark purple, I've even had pinky blonde highlights...all of which I loved at the time but, now looking back at my Facebook photos, I can't help but cringe!

Now I'm an old woman, I'm happy to stick to blonde. But not blonde with awful roots, the look I'm currently sporting! :/ To all the hairdressers out there: please help me!

What cringe-worthy hairstyles have you donned in the past?
