Now I'm back to the dark, lonesome depths of exam revision, I've spent most of this week in jogging bottoms and a grey tee - I know, shameful for a so-called 'fashionista' (ah-hem). But my gorgeous red suede
shoes from Spartoo arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to show them off, even if only for a trip to the supermarket...
I've been very careful with my money lately - we're moving in a little over a month and rent deposits in London are horrific, so every penny is being saved. So, in a probably pointless attempt to be frugal, I've decided that all future wardrobe purchases must be office-appropriate. From 16 August onwards, I'll be living life in suits and shirts - so there's no point spending the little cash I have on clothing that will never see the light of day...
But it is a tougher challenge than I thought! Although I'm sure I can work these
red suede shoes with a smart dress and black opaque tights, it is really hard to find a decent fitting suit. I've tried about 20 without any success. I know we're now meant to have equality of the sexes - powerful, independent women in positions of authority and all that jazz - but this certainly hasn't filtered down into the High Street. All the suit shops are male-oriented, with only a tiny section of ill-fitting suits and shirts for women... I want to look feminine, not frumpy!
