Wear Your Wardrobe Challenge: Part I

Hello! I'm back! After almost a month of revision and exams, I'm finally back to blogging. And to celebrate my first day off in 27 days, the Texan and I went to Kew Gardens to look at all the pretty plants and flowers...

After spending the past 27 days in jeans and a hoody (bra-less too, I'm happy to report), it was about time I wore proper clothes. The Texan and I are moving flat in a month's time and I've already started clearing out my wardrobe - and, inevitably, I have uncovered a horrific amount of tops, jeans, dresses, belts, bags, shoes etc etc which haven't seen the light of day in months, if not years...

VoucherCodes.co.uk Fashion Report recently surveyed over 2,000 people to find out how people fit fashion into their finances. One of the key findings of the report was that the average person in the UK has over three unworn items of clothing in their wardrobe...clearly I'm no exception.

And so I'm participating in VoucherCodes.co.uk Fashion Report's Wear Your Wardrobe Challenge, where you pick three items you haven't worn in forever and update them with something new. My first pick is this pretty Mexican embroidered top which I picked up for a few pennies in Queretaro almost 5 years ago. I think it's quite beautiful and so I don't know why I've hardly ever worn it. I tried to make it less Frida Kahlo and more "Mexicana-chic" (I'm coining that term!) by adding a pop of red with a simple-shaped bag and relaxed espadrilles.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's instalment, where I'll be updating a pair of palazzo pants which, according to Take Courage, I haven't worn since last April - shameful!
